The effects of smoking or eating cannabis are pretty well documented and can include: confusion, restlessness, excitement, hallucinations, or being chilled out and happy. Now we cannot say whether the flock of sheep in Wales that are thought to have consumed some discarded cannabis plants had any of these symptoms, but they certainly went on the rampage.
Reports from officials in Swansea have said that the sheep had been seen roaming around a local village and trying to get into people’s homes. Being very resourceful and possibly believing that they might find some other tasty morsels, not content with roaming around the garden, they even entered one person’s bungalow and left a mess in the bedroom!
It appears that the cannabis plants that were thought to have been found by the “stoned” sheep had been dumped from an illegal cannabis factory, on a road above Salem Chapel near Rhydypandy. A Swansea councillor is quoted as saying that the remains of the plants had been removed and he had been waging crusade against frequent fly-tipping in the countryside in his area. He went on to explain how fly tipping had a negative impact on communities, which we presume must also mean sheep too.
We are left wondering if this was a different way to experiment and see just how good the Sunday roast would taste, but there is no need really as Welsh lamb is sweeter than most. The council are asking anyone who may be responsible, or knows who might be, to contact them or the police. Don’t hold the front page!
