In Northern Ireland, Riley Gedge-Duffy, a five-year-old boy with Down syndrome, was trapped in a clothes dryer after the machine started automatically. Riley climbed into the dryer for fun but did not expect the machine to start. I’ve actually seen little kids climb into the dryer for fun so this has to be a nightmare to think about for parents.
With Riley’s mom vacuuming upstairs, things would have taken a turn for the worst if it wasn’t for the family’s cockapoo, Teddy.
But Riley’s father said their cockapoo, Teddy, “ran upstairs and basically went berserk so she knew something was not right.”The dog reportedly ran back and forth to the dryer. When Riley’s mother followed him, she heard “banging and crashing and could see his iPad going round and round.”She pulled Riley out the of dryer, poured cold water on him and took him to the hospital, where he was treated for burns and bruising to his head, according to the Times.“It doesn’t bear thinking about what might have happened if the dog had not been there,” the Times quoted Riley’s father as saying.
Let’s f*cking go! This is the type of stuff that gets me fired up. This is exactly why I want a dog around if I ever have kids. This poor kid could have died if the dog was not there. Dogs are not only man’s best friend, but they are the parent to your children when you are not around. I honestly might trust a dog to watch my kid more than a teenage babysitter. Kids are always on their phones today and rarely look up to see what’s going on in the world. It’s actually such a huge and sickening problem. I’ll take a dog protecting my kids over a careless babysitter every day of the week.
Also, this proves once again that dogs are 100% better than cats. Let’s check the score real quick between dogs and cats.
Dogs, 765,983,890. Cats, 0. Better luck next time, cat lovers!
